South Coast Gynecologic Oncology is a multidisciplinary team of providers who aim to provide our patients and their families with the highest quality medical care available while ensuring that each patient’s treatment is individualized to meet their needs. Our fellowship trained gynecologic oncologists are specially trained to care for persons with gynecologic cancers.
We work in collaboration with our patients to develop an individualized treatment plan to fit the needs and desires of each patient. We strive to educate our patients about their bodies, the disease that is impacting their health, and the different treatment options that are available to them. Every patient is in control of their own health care decisions, and we aim to guide them every step of the way.
Our team approach to caring for our patients with gynecologic cancers is evident by our monthly treatment planning conferences.
Our team of experts come together regularly at a tumor board conference to discuss complex cases to help optimize treatment plans for each patient. These experts include representatives from gynecologic oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, gynecologists/obstetricians, and hematologic oncologists.

Our surgeons are experts in minimally invasive surgery and have performed thousands of da Vinci® robotic surgical procedures. Dr. Bahador is a renowned robotic surgeon who routinely teaches and proctors other surgeons in da Vinci® robotic surgeries. Drs. Charo and Nyakudarika are expert robotic surgeons and have performed hundreds of robotic gynecologic and gynecologic oncology procedures.
Our talented surgical team also specializes in complex pelvic surgery, advanced abdominal surgeries, and reconstructive surgery in areas of gynecology and gynecologic oncology.
About Us
At South Coast Gynecologic Oncology, we care for persons with cancers of the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, peritoneum, vulva, vagina, gestational trophoblastic disease and more. We offer comprehensive care such as surgery, chemotherapy and immunotherapy and survivorship surveillance for people with gynecologic cancers.
Our providers also perform surgery for complex gynecologic conditions such as endometriosis, pelvic masses, uterine fibroids, ovarian masses, and vaginal fistulas. We are experts in the surgical management of Placenta Accreta Spectrum and work closely with the obstetrics team to ensure excellent outcomes for this highly complex obstetrics complication.
